QUALIFICATIONS / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- BSN preferred, Associates Degree required
- Current licensure in Respective State of Work required
- Emergency room/urgent care/ICU experience preferred
- Three (3) years of relevant clinical experience preferred
- Current certification required based on clinic specialty, including but not limited to PALS, ACLS, BLS

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing quality patient care. The RN coordinates and participates in a variety of supportive patient care activities to assist clinicians in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the urgent care clinics. Performs all clinician orders in a timely and accurate manner adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Competitive Compensation, with an estimated salary of $30.00 to $35.00 hourly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represents Immediate Care by displaying a respectful and caring manner with patients and their families. Independently problem solves and utilizes resources to obtain patient information when patient is unable to communicate. Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
- Creates a welcoming environment and acts as a patient advocate.
- Observes, assesses, triages, and takes action on all patients according to protocol.
- Provides quality patient care:
- Obtains vital signs and patient history
- Administers medications
- Performs and/or assists in procedures
- Performs labs on patient samples and lab controls according to protocol
- Gives aftercare instructions and discharges/transfers patients
- Documents all assessments, actions, care and treatment responses, and communications in patient record in EMR, logs and requisitions.
- Performs venipuncture to provide optimal blood sampling while practicing good technique and universal precautions to assure maximum safety and comfort.
- Maintains current working knowledge of all instruments, procedures and techniques for all above services.
- Determines, prepares and sets up medical supplies, instruments and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Confers with patient to obtain accurate information for records, explains procedures, eases fears and elicits cooperation; ensures completion of chart information prior to examination by physician or extender. Assists in completion of insurance/compensation/disability forms.
- Executes physician orders and communicates care plan to patient/family.
- Performs various laboratory testing, daily controls and additional duties as needed.
- Addressess patient issues/concerns as appropriate and under direction of manager or clinician.
- Complies with quality assurance, HIPAA, customer service, infection control, and safety guidelines and other policies as set forth.
- Ensures adequate and appropriate patient follow-up regarding prescriptions, referrals and diagnostic testing. Contributes to patient care through patient and family education, distributing resource literature and referrals as needed.
- Interacts calmly, respectfully and in a friendly manner with other clinic staff. Refers patients to proper resources including transfer, follow up and appointments as directed by clinician.
- Participates in ongoing training through completion of online training, attending in-person training sessions and meetings as required.
- Participates in development and implementation of general policies and procedures to provide for the physical and emotional comfort and safety of patients.
- Maintains CME requirements through continuing education and in-service training.
