Senior Accountant - Emergency Medicine

This position is remote anywhere in the U.S.

OVERVIEW:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for monthly close process, review of financial statements and supporting schedules, and month end reporting analysis for Emergency Medicine in the Northeast. The position is also responsible for assistance/preparation of annual budget and monthly projections. Additionally, this position is responsible for all components of hospital billing accounts receivable along with other projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee month-end process to include: journal entries, resolving financial issues, preliminary review of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Prepare monthly reports on budget vs actual results
  • Prepare certain balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Responsible for monthly projection process for book of business
  • Assist/responsible for annual budget process for book of business
  • Prepare pricing models to project financial performance of new contracts or changes in current contracts as requested
  • Oversee contract/billing AR with staff accountant
  • Prepare local business tax returns
  • Assist Senior Financial Analyst with quarterly NAPC reviews for book of business
  • Review accounts payable
  • Special projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or degree and equivalent accounting experience)
  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in accounting
  • Strong general ledger and monthly closing experience, through financial statements
  • Excellent computer skills with specific proficiency in spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision making skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including tact and ability to handle confidential and personal information with discretion
