Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position provides general accounting support to the Treasury Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides support and backup to Treasury Manager for all mandatory Treasury functions.
  • Interact with company banking institutions to resolve issues as necessary.
  • Obtains cash receipt information, prepares and distributes cash receipt summaries, and records cash receipts to the general ledger.
  • Processes bank wire transfer and ACH transactions.
  • Prepares reports for management use.
  • Processing/maintenance of Contract A/R system.
  • Processing/maintenance of Cash Ledger system.
  • Prepares miscellaneous bank deposits. 
  • Resolves returned NSF checks.   
  • Reviews and maintains bank statements for all company bank accounts. 
  • Assists in the escheatment of unclaimed property, including maintaining detail records of escheatable items and due dates, preparing reports, and remitting reports and payments to the respective states.
  • Prepare data uploads into company’s ERP system. 
  • Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience;
  • Three to four years of experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping;
  • Good computer skills with intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel and familiar with designing and maintaining worksheets;
  • Solid organization and communication skills;
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines; and
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently of immediate and direct supervision.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting;
  • Occasional standing/bending;
  • Occasional lifting/carrying (10 pounds or less);
  • Prolonged sitting; and
  • Prolonged work at a computer/PC.
  • Strong “10-key” skills necessary.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
