The Over Provisions Senior is responsible for all functions necessary for the production of refunds.  This includes overseeing distribution of credit balance reports and maintaining target dates for refund production according to TeamHealth policy.  Other duties include assisting with the training of new employees, monitoring production, and performing monthly staff quality audits.


  • Approve all refunds up to $2000 in accordance with TeamHealth policy
  • Perform monthly quality audits as directed by the department supervisor and manager
  • Oversee the credit balance and payor research workflows
  • Distribute credit balance and compliance reports
  • Monitor the refund process, develop procedures, and make recommendations to the Supervisor and/or Management regarding process improvement
  • Assist in training of new staff, as well as remedial training of existing staff
  • Maintain logs for manual refunds
  • Assist staff in resolving unidentified issues
  • Communicate progress of projects and assignments
  • Report any detected problems, errors, and/or trends to Supervisor and/or Manager
  • Other duties as assigned by Management


Job Requirements


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience posting medical payments, analyzing credit balances, or general medical billing on computerized billing system.
  • Minimum 45 WPM typing skills
  • Accurate 10-key skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, ability to multi-task, and able to work independently
  • Effective telephone and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of GECB posting process, a plus
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiency preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous medical billing experience preferred
  • Overtime as needed at direction of Management

  • Job performed in a pleasant, high volume, fast-paced, well-lighted, climate-controlled modern office setting, or in a remote setting as approved by Management.
  • Ability to meet closing deadlines and production standards is required.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, and fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.

Overtime may be required and can be mandated by Management.
