This vital position works within the corporate Scribe Support Program as a strategic thought partner and technician in defining, developing and trending data analytics, scorecards and reports to gain business insights, support operational efforts and feed performance improvement strategies. This Senior Data Analyst will be working in operations with a fast-paced, data-forward team charged with successful management of analytics and reporting related to scribe services and scribe vendor(s) which are spread across the United States and serving multiple facilities and clinicians. This position brings value to the organization via a thorough understanding of targeted data sets, identifying data capture/storage needs, mining for needed data, skillful visualization of data and proactive data trending to identify issues, solutions and best practices.


  • Efficiently mines, manipulates, analyzes, extracts and summarizes large volumes of multifaceted data using various data analysis and reporting tools
  • Experienced at writing complex data queries and developing reports via Excel, Tableau and other business intelligence software for trending and predictive analytics on a monthly, quarterly, annual and/or PRN basis
  • In addition to maintaining existing and creating new reports, designs and builds KPI dashboards/scorecards and other visualizations to leverage TeamHealth data to drive business results and assist in holding scribe vendor(s) accountable for targeted service delivery levels
    • Reporting includes such elements as Schedules Published 30 Days in Advance, TeamHealth’s Requested Scribe Hours, Swaps/Traded Shifts In-Month, Scribe Coverage Request Changes from Clinicians/Facilities, Percent Coverage, Hot Spot Drill Down, Invoice Reconciliation, etc.
  • When needed data is not currently being captured by TeamHealth’s software systems, works with operations and information technology leaders/staff to define business needs, system requirements and tests new system functionality leading to desired future state
  • Develops, supports and delivers analytics to operations leaders with an appropriate sense of urgency to meet the business needs and related deadlines
  • Demonstrates knowledge of vendor contracts and parameters outlined in such that would affect data capture/reporting
  • Effectively communicates verbally and via written documentation the analytical findings to stakeholders, and provides education on dashboards’ functionality and use
  • Possesses a working knowledge of data management in operational systems, data flow between operational systems and the foundational reports housed in those systems
  • Remains current on ongoing projects specifically those that impact data management and data flow
  • Serves as the owner of Scribe Support Program generated reports for the field and National Support Center stakeholders
  • Supports targeted requests from the field for specific facility and/or vendor reports
  • Investigates data integrity issues and provides root cause analysis as well as options for solving the problem
  • Collaborates with other technical and data analytic teams when appropriate to ensure data consistency and standardization throughout TeamHealth
  • Demonstrates active participation, ownership and leaders related to all assigned tasks/projects
  • Creates reproducible reports and verifies results for high degree of confidence data for leadership to then take action upon
  • Thoroughly documents all reporting assumptions and data sets and algorithms used
  • Participates as a team member with TeamHealth’s Center of Excellence Data Analytics Community
  • Perform other duties as needed

Job Requirements


  • Masters preferred, but Bachelor’s degree required in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Services, or from a four-year university with equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
  • Proficiency in R, Python, PLSQL, SQL, HQL scripts against VLDBs and Big Data environments
  • Proficiency with descriptive and predictive analytic methods
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools
  • Experience with Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Netezza, or Hadoop platforms), Mathematical computations, Statistics, Lean Operations and database development
  • Ideally 3-5 years of Data Analytics experience
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and practices
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Intellectually curious self-starter, who can work independently or as part of a team and prioritize deliverables to meet deadlines with minimal oversight

    • Strong command of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
    • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills (oral and written)
