JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for coordinating the flow of work preparing reports, training employees, attorney letters, special projects, assuming job duties in an employee or supervisor's absence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with division of batches and claims
  • Establish relationship with other departments to ensure work flow   
  • Determine work flow in the department
  • Ensure that priorities are done in a timely manner
  • Report any work flow problem to supervisor
  • Prepare weekly production log
  • Assist with updating employees daily logs
  • Work with employees on computer to ensure they understand screens
  • Help establish policies and procedures as changes occur
  • Evaluate new employees after 90 days
  • Process attorney requests for itemized statements received in the mail or by fax
  • Note the account that process was completed
  • Ensure any special requests affecting the department are completed in a timely manner (Medical records or EOB's requested)
  • Claims requiring special attention for printing
  • Assume additional responsibilities in absence of supervisor
  • Attend weekly meeting
  • Perform other non-essential duties requested by the supervisor

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1 year experience in medical claim forms. Computer training and knowledge of keyboard.  Good organizational and communication skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift up to 20 pounds of boxed weight.  Requires sitting and walking tolerance.  Must be detail oriented and have good organizational skills.  This job is performed in a well-lighted environment.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
