THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION

Overview:

This position is a good fit for an entry to mid-level Software engineer. The engineer will work with management and team through a complete software development cycle including: Requirements, Technical Discovery, System Architecture, Development of Technical Specifications, Database Design, Programming, Testing and Release. The position includes development of custom software applications and software routines to meet specific call center and client requirements. The associated applications include the Nurse Triage System and various web based applications. Responsibilities can include leading midsize projects, development, telephony support, managing maintenance, report creation and interface development.

Responsibilities:

  • Development includes working with client server, web based, iPhone and Android technologies used by the Nurses, Patient Coordinators, Practice Managers, and Doctors
  • Develop and enhance existing and new applications to improve performance and meet client needs
  • Significantly reduce Nurse and Patient Coordinator time by identifying and implementing software changes
  • Responsibilities may include the design and implementation of custom feeds, and other interfaces using Mirth (HL7, FHIR, APIs, web services) and SQL scripts
  • Maintains and supports the Nurse Triage System, Datamart, reporting application, instant messaging, terminal servers and PCs
  • Determine enterprise needs and requirements and develop functional specifications for automated workflow, including data models, screen and report layouts and form designs
  • From time to time provide after hour application, infrastructure and end user support
  • Assist with phone system support and testing
  • Executes test plans and documents system enhancements
  • Leads midsize projects
  • Manages one time and recurring system maintenance and product upgrades.
  • Develops reports in the reporting system
  • Sets up users in tools like CRM, the reporting system and the Nurse Triage System
  • Offers excellent client relation, follow-up, follow-through and documentation skills

 

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, 
  • information systems or an applied science or equivalent experience
  • Must have great client relation skills and the ability to work directly and daily with internal and external clients
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage projects
  • Telephone and CTI experience is a plus
  • Development experience with as many of the following is a plus including Microsoft C# .NET, SQL Server; Web Development C#, Java, MVC API, MVC Web App, script experience, and XSLT; Interface Development using Mirth (HL7, FHIR, API, web services); iPhone and Android
  • Report writing experience is a plus
  • Three plus years in overall application development / support experience.
  • Agile development experience
  • Healthcare IT experience is a plus
  • Knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance as it relates to technology is a plus.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills is a must

Physical and Environmental Demands:

Duties are performed at home or in a modern office setting.  Will require some work in the evenings and on weekends. Prolonged sitting, with prolonged work on a PC. Carries a cell phone for urgent and support needs. May require light travel for meetings. This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, and fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. May require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
