Job Description


The Summer Legal Intern position is a temporary, full-time position extending from May 2019 through August 2019 dates aligning with the applicable school calendar dismissal and start dates. This position will be dedicated primarily to an intensive contract review and summary project. The Summer Legal Intern will be responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, reviewing and transferring information from approximately 1,500 total hospital, medical director and provider contract details to a summary contract grid.   In addition, the Summer Legal Intern may be asked to assist on other TeamHealth operations matters in order to assist in other areas of the business.


  • Gathers approximately 1,500 total hospital, medical director and provider contracts from various departments across the TeamHealth organization
  • Reviews and analyzes contracts for specific information within the scope of the defined project.
  • Enters, maintains and tracks all data into a multi-colum Excel spreadsheet or equivalent Word table document.
  • Responsible for identifying variances in actual vs. template contract language and charting results.
  • Responsible for completing the contract project in an accurate and timely manner before the end of the summer period.
  • Responsible for assisting the company’s lawyers on other matters as necessary and as time away from the contract project permits.
  • Expected to work approximately 8 hours per day, 5 days per week during the summer months.
  • Other related duties as requested from time to time.



Job Requirements


  • This position should be First or Second year law student or certified paralegal.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong reading, writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a labor intensive and monotous project over a significant period of time.
  • Must be detail oriented and results oriented.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members of the legal team.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work alone in a work station or office setting.
