JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

The Cross Coverage Representative for Accounts Receivable is responsible for providing support as needed for No Activity, Denials Resolution and Appeals related to processing ETM worklist.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes ETM worklist when assistance is required in No Activity, Denials Resolution and Appeals.
  • Reviews rejections to identify trends and carrier issues require reporting to management.
  • Participates in unit progress meetings with staff regarding No Activity, Denials Resolution and Appeals.
  • Notifies AR manager of any unusual circumstances regarding Overprovisions, Patient Accounts and Payment Processing.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as requested by Accounts Receivable Manager.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one-year previous medical billing experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health care reimbursement guidelines, Medicare and Medicaid preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of appeals and review policies for state and government plans.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physician billing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent follow-up skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

 

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting
  • Occasional standing/bending
  • Occasional lifting/carrying (20lbs or less)
  • Moderate stress

  • Prolonged work on a PC/computer
  • Prolonged telephone work

 

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
