The Contracts Specialist is responsible for all aspects of drafting provider contracts and legal documents including new contracts, edits to contracts, researching necessary updates, termination letters, etc. for employee providers and independent contractors. The responsibilities also include contract maintenance activities, managing termination deadlines and preparation and committing of Contract Action Request (CAR) for locum providers. This position has responsibility for the overall workflow of the contracting process.


◊ Managing the workflow of contracts
◊ Verify CAR details and compensation details coming from Recruiting
◊ Notify locums sourcing role of committed CAR documents
◊ Draft and edit contract documents
◊ Develop and issue provider termination letters
◊ Creating edit, resignation and termination CARs
◊ Researching existing documents to identify and validate necessary updates
◊ Assist in quality assurance of other Contract Specialists contract documents


Job Requirements


◊ HS Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree strongly preferred
◊ Minimum of two years of experience with contracts, legal documents or other health care related work
◊ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
◊ Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
◊ Ability to communicate effectively with Providers, Medical Directors and VPOs
◊ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
◊ Ability to meet challenging deadlines
◊ Ability to work in a team environment

◊ Ability to work a flexible schedule and after-hours as needed with access to appropriate technology
◊ Occasional travel by plane and/or car

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, and fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
