JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for general clerical duties following HIPAA guidelines and established policies and procedures.  Must have good organizational skills, computer skills, and be production oriented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs general clerical duties to include sorting mail, printing, filing, pulling records as needed

  • Retrieve medical records from storage application.
  • Print claims from master printer files.
  • Process claims per State requirements.
  • Maintain a daily log.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as requested.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Six months experience working with insurance or in a hospital/office environment preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift up to 20 pounds of boxed weight; requires sitting and walking tolerance.  Must be detail oriented and have good organizational skills.  This job is performed in a well-lighted environment.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
