Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for processing, TES edits, auditing ICD-10 CM diagnosis, CPT and Clinical Data reporting (CDR.) This information is obtained from patient encounters based on medical records from client hospital Emergency Departments. Also, run daily reports, work OnBase Queues, maintain Master CDR’s as needed and Coding Contract Information Sheets. (CCIS)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exercise knowledge of medical terminology and physiological systems, as well as ICD-10/CPT coding rules and regulations.
  • Work with team to ensure Quality/Quantity standards are maintained.
  • Audit, process TES edits, code batches as needed.
  • Review and process charts according to department production goals.
  • Report concerns or irregularities to Analyst/Supervisor regarding all responsibilities required being processed in this department.
  • Read all memos, bulletins, updates, and educational material supplied and be responsible for the content.
  • Performance of other non-essential duties that may be requested by BPO Management.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • ICD-10, CPT, and knowledge of required CDR (Clinical Data Reporting) essential, certification preferred.

 

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  Requires constant sitting tolerance, must have good attention span and attention to detail.  This job should be performed in a well-lighted and well-vented environment. This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, office machines (copier, scanner) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
