Job Requirements of HR Consultant:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in multiple and complex human resources related functions required.
Previous multi-state healthcare experience preferred - PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred - Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to pivot easily in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Workday highly preferred
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills; ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage stress and conflict
- Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

SUMMARY
The HR Consultant acts as a strategic business partner to leadership of designated business areas. The HR Consultant will work with leaders to understand how HR can improve business outcomes to support the organizations strategic direction and long-term goals. This position handles various areas of Human Resources management including a heavy lean on the leave process, employee relations and employee development for the Post-Acute Care service line.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides advice and acts as a business partner to leaders in order to address issues affecting the business, including mitigating risk and overseeing situations that results in the best possible outcomes for TeamHealth and its employees
- Serves as the primary point of contact for employees to ensure an optimal work environment. Acts as an employee advocate by promoting a workplace culture of diversity and inclusion
- Manage, administer, and accurately track employee/clinician leave within the PAC, including PTO, sick leave, FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation, military leave, administrative and healthcare‑specific leaves
- Identifies staffing needs of the business and manages the full cycle recruiting process: identify, engage, evaluate, and hire top candidates
- Acts as a change agent by obtaining buy-in from employees. Partners with HR Director or leadership to implement change initiatives in order to achieve objectives and goals
- Provides guidance with start-ups and M&A activities
- Partners with HR leaders on strategic initiatives, such as but not limited to: employee and clinician engagement initiatives, succession planning, performance reviews, merit and bonus process. Identifies improvement activities that ensure efficiency in business processes
- Answers questions, directs information and provides guidance on subjects such as: HRIS, corporate compliance, worker’s compensation, leaves of absence, HIPAA, regulatory compliance, ERISA, OSHA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, EEOC/DOL, policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws
- Responds to employee relations issues and advises leaders in order to resolve and/or manage employee issues. Provides guidance regarding coaching, counseling, progressive disciplinary action, suspension, performance improvement and termination, as well as responds to employee concerns
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed
- Coordinates and maintains the tracking of pertinent employment and HRIS information for accurate employee record keeping
- Partners with management to communicate and develop HR policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws
- Develops and facilitates various training and development projects. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
- Partners with HR Service Center, Benefits, Compensation, HR Recruitment team, and HRIS as needed
- Uses HR data and analytics to assist leaders with business decisions
- Proactively partners with and develops relationships with other departments to understand, resolve, and remove barriers that affect the department or employees
- Participates in HR professional organizations
