OVERVIEW:

The HR Director is responsible for overseeing and performing various areas of Human Resources management for the Hospital Based Services (HBS) of TeamHealth. Additionally, will assume responsibility for special projects assigned by the Senior Vice President and manages Human Resources staff for assigned regional area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides key oversight of Human Resources ensuring best in class Human Resources services are provided, including but not limited to:
    • Development and administration of associate engagement, recruitment and retention strategies consistent with existing policies and practices
    • Providing managerial and consultative input regarding associate relations, performance management, professional development and compensation
    • Serving as a subject matter expert for: HRIS, corporate compliance, HIPAA regulatory compliance, ERISA, OSHA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, equal employment and affirmative action plans, policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws
  • Provides leadership and guidance to support succession planning, leadership development, and high-potential identification for clinician and administrative leadership roles.
  • Partners with senior management to lead organizational change initiatives by developing and executing plans, driving communication and training efforts, and ensure successful adoption of new processes, structures, or technologies while minimizing disruption.
  • Acts as an advisor on Human Resources related issues to senior management; aligns Human Resources goals to correlate with the mission and objective as a strategic partner to translate business plans into Human Resources strategies and operational plans, streamlines Human Resources business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the organization
  • Leads resolution of complex administrative/clinician relations issues including contracts, performance concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to clinicians and clinical leaders, ensuring a positive work environment while mitigating organizational risk.
  • Supports strategies that promote clinician well-being, engagement, and retention.
  • Manages Human Resources staff providing Human Resources services; evaluates associates and needs of department; provides training, performance feedback, counseling and guidance to develop staff
  • Works to oversee departmental processes in absence of VP; may approve associate expense reports, supply orders, check requests, etc.
  • Works closely with VP to contribute to the fiscal and budget planning process and budgetary adherenence
  • Participates in appropriate human resource professional organizations to stay abreast of current developments in the field
  • Identifies, recommends and assumes responsibility for special projects; aligns HR management practices with peer group and leaders to ensure consistency of HR practices

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; master’s degree preferred
  • Ten or more years of experience in multiple Human Resources related functions; corporate experience, multi-state and large volume preferred with experience managing remote associates in a for-profit environment
  • Five years previous management experience; SHPR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory experience, compliance, employment law, FML, ADA, EEO; experience drafting policies and procedures, writing and reviewing EEO position statement responses
  • Working knowledge of Workday Human Capital Management system
  • Knowledge of compensation processes, ability to work with internal resources to communicate compensation ranges and provide consultative advice regarding compensation
  • Excellent communications (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database management, HRIS)
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills; excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict well; adapt to rapid change
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision;
  • Ability to attend to detail; and
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
