Overview
The Sr. Benefits Coordinator performs a variety of functions related to the administration of the employee benefits program. Administers, facilitates and explains benefit programs to employees. Assists in reporting and audits of various benefit plans.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities
- Professionally answer incoming calls and respond to employee inquiries via phone and email
- Provides guidance to employees on new/open enrollment issues and benefit options. This includes compare and contrast benefits during New/Open Enrollment and Special Enrollment Periods
- Manages all records related to benefit enrollment eligibility and enrollment for the purpose of monitoring receipt of proper enrollment materials, timely enrollments and requested changes
- Processes and approves Qualifying Events in the Benefit Enrollment System
- Reviews cases and pending events in the Benefit Enrollment System
- Assures accurate maintenance of HRIS benefit records
- Assures coverage of Benefit Center calls and emails
- Seeks to resolve issues or route to appropriate person for resolution
- Provides support for the annual open enrollment period and for special project work as needed
- Provide support for the Benefits Coordinators
- Assists and provides backup to specialists with benefit-related tasks such as invoicing, auditing, and other special projects
- Participates in an integrated work team as a responsible team member
- Assists in the facilitation of the team process at TeamHealth by serving as an active member of the team. This includes attending all team-related meetings; participating in developing and implementing center-wide and team goals; participating in problem-solving and decision making; supporting corporate and center management decisions; being flexible and adaptable to change; establishing trust and respect for other team members; placing team needs first; and by completing all necessary training
- Follows the norms and guidelines established by the team for communication, production, efficiency, conflict resolution, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal relations
Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience preferred
- 1 – 3 years of human resources experience, preferably in benefits
- Experience in customer or employee support is preferred
- Excellent computer skills; Workday system experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to function as part of a team, yet work with minimal direction/supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
