Overview
The Sr. HR Associate acts as a business partner to leadership of designated business areas. The Sr. HR Associate will assist leaders in order to understand how HR can improve business outcomes to support the organizations strategic direction and long-term goals. This position supports various areas of Human Resource management including employee relations, recruitment life cycle, and employee development.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides assistance and support to business leaders in order to address issues affecting operations
- Serves as a point of contact for employees to ensure optimal work environment. Helps promote a workplace culture of diversity and inclusion
- Helps identify staffing needs and provides support within the full cycle recruiting process: identify, engage, evaluate, and hire top candidates
- Acts as a change agent and supports leadership in the implementation of change initiatives in order to achieve objectives and goals
- Assists with strategic initiatives, such as but not limited to: employee and clinician engagement initiatives, succession planning, performance reviews, and merit and bonus process. Helps implement improvement activities that ensure efficiency in business processes
- Answers questions, directs information and provides general human resources guidance on subjects such as: HRIS, corporate compliance, worker’s compensation, leaves of absence, HIPAA, regulatory compliance, ERISA, OSHA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, EEOC/DOL, policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws
- Responds to employee relations issues and supports leaders in order to resolve and/or manage employee issues. Assists with coaching, counseling, progressive disciplinary action, suspension, performance improvement and termination, as well as responds to employee concerns
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed
- Helps track pertinent employment and HRIS information for accurate employee record keeping
- Provides management information regarding HR policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws
- Helps create various training and development projects
- Communicates with HR Service Center, Benefits, Compensation, HR Recruitment team, and HRIS as needed
- Uses HR data and analytics to assist leaders with business decisions
Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in multiple and complex human resources related functions required. Previous multi-state healthcare experience is preferred
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, HRIS)
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills; ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to adapt to rapid change, manage stress and conflict
- Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment
